When a child is struggling, the entire family feels it. What once felt manageable can quickly become overwhelming — emotional outbursts, anxiety, behavioral challenges, parenting stress, or major life transitions like postpartum adjustment or divorce. Many parents silently wonder if they are doing enough, yet feel exhausted from trying everything they know.

Some families describe feeling as though they are fighting the same battles every day, unsure where to turn for guidance. Others feel buried beneath the weight of their circumstances, unable to see a clear way forward. In these moments, compassionate support can transform discouragement into hope.

Sarah Velier provides a safe, nurturing space where children and families can experience healing, growth, and renewed connection. With a calm and supportive presence, she partners with parents to better understand the “why” behind their child’s behavior while equipping both parent and child with practical tools that create lasting change.

Sarah utilizes holistic, evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. Her clinical work primarily integrates:
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness
  • Play Therapy

Through these approaches, Sarah helps children develop emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience while empowering parents to respond with clarity and intention rather than frustration or fear.

Deeply person-centered in her work, Sarah believes the therapeutic relationship is a powerful catalyst for change. For clients who desire it, she thoughtfully incorporates Christian/Catholic faith-based integration, honoring the spiritual dimension of healing.

Families who work with Sarah often report feeling more hopeful, grounded, and equipped. Parents gain confidence in their leadership, children feel understood and secure, and families rediscover connection — even during life’s most tender seasons.

Sarah is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling at Liberty University. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She also completed advanced study in School Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Her professional background includes experience supporting children and families within:
  • Public and charter schools
  • Residential treatment settings
  • Children’s hospitals
Additionally, Sarah brings five years of pediatric psychology research experience, strengthening her thoughtful, evidence-informed clinical approach.

Sarah considers it a privilege to walk alongside families during seasons of challenge and transition. With the right support, resilience can be built, relationships can be strengthened, and families can move forward with renewed hope.
